Bowls Papanui is one of the iconic bowling clubs of Christchurch. Since it was founded in 1911, it has hosted some major National and International events including World Bowls and Asia - Pacific tournaments.

Have you got a special occasion coming? If you have an event, Bowls Papanui has the venue, and for something different, your guests can also try playing bowls. Lawn Bowls is a fun yet challenging sport for young and old - Anyone can play it. Want to try lawn bowls?
Bowls Papanui has run two very successful 'Have A Go' days in October but if you didn't make it along to these days and still want to try lawn bowls, it is not too late. Bowls Papanui will also be holding similar days for six Sundays in November/ December, where anyone has the opportunity to cvisit the club, look around and experience the challenging game of Lawn Bowls.
Draws for Club Championships
The draws for the Men's Championship events are now in the chartroom at the club. NB the first rounds of singles and pairs have to be completed by 30th October.
Papanui vs Morrison Avenue
The tournament between Morrison Avenue and Bowls Papanui was finally held this year after a couple of years hiatus. Morrison Avenue scored more moints in the afternoon's games, but it is wins that count and Bowls Papanui just sneaked in with those after being well down at afternoon tea. Congratulations to all those who took part, and special thanks to the two teams from Shirley Bowling Club who boosted our numbers.

Subs reduced for 2011 season
Bowls Papanui has reduced its subscription charges for members this year. It now only costs $130 to become a member of Bowls Papanui or $50 for a first year junior player. Text our Manager - Membership, Dave Cooper on 021 246 1980 for more details.
